How to Write a Research Proposal for English literature in Masters in 2022

In this article, you will find how to write a research paper for English literature at the master’s level. I shared my own experience of doing research. During my time I researched how to write research but no one can specifically write about the research on a master’s level. But here I suggest you some tips and tricks for writing an effective research proposal. Research has five basic chapters in which you include the whole topic. Introduction, Review of literature, Research Methodology, Data analysis and interpretation, Conclusion.

Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION

Make sure the research starts on a general phase with some type of initial remarks before going into the details of the specific research question you are choosing. This can be achieved by providing a frame of reference, a definition, or an argument of the significance of the topic in the area. It should reflect the motive of the study. The content organization should be good writing and well reasonable to avoid gaps. Under the heading of the introduction, the following subheadings are included.

1. Statement of the problem
2. Significance of the problem
3. Objectives of the study
4. Research Questions
5. Limitation
6. Delimitation

This chapter includes all the related research information. The statement of the problem is the point where you put the basic problem of research. Your research problem should be different or simply fill the gap in your chosen topic. Then present the significance of the study, and objectives in these parts you explain the importance of your topic and why u choose this research. The research question should be valid and catchy. Then explain the limitations and delimitation of research.

Chapter 2: Review of literature

It should cover the related research in your area of study.  The literature review is written to spot your study within the context of including knowledge and other research in the discipline. It gives credit to other scholars. It also helps you to indicate what is new in your research.

Be sure to reveal if you are creating on a previous study or a  well-established hypothesis; dealing with certain gaps in information that exist. The addition to living knowledge is by doing research with a unique or more complete procedure.

At least five other researches should be examined in the literature review. After you have done the literature review make sure it is clear and error-free.

When you mention other reviews they are usually cited by the writer’s last name and the period of publication. In the final bibliography, you will give a full citation of all the investigations you cited in your research.

Chapter 3: Research Methodology

Provide a full explanation of your research design, as well as the specific procedure and method used in your research proposal. The methodology should be adequately detailed so that it can be reproduced. If you are interpreting a methodological approach formulated by others, refer to the relevant studies. Give charts, diagrams, and examples as applicable to your discipline.

Record the technique you used and give a diagram of the practical setup.

Describe your type of analysis and theoretical approach if applicable (Marxist, Feminist, Freudian, etc.). Explain the varieties of sources used (secondary or primary texts, personal notes, surveys,  etc.).

Explain the components that are used in the methods. For example how you made proportions; how you selected your research topic and subject; the psychological tests used; a sample of your survey questionnaire; a description of statistics used; a purpose your focus in terms of historical period or framework; etc.

Explain any delimitation and limitations that your research has in terms of the dependability and applicability of the results.

Chapter 4: Data Analysis and Interpretation

After an introductory paragraph interpretation and analysis of data should be illustrated logically. Unnecessary figures and tables should be avoided.

In this chapter, you will give a summary of the whole chosen topic and then focus on the main research topic.

Chapter5 Conclusion

The conclusion should have findings. These are written in the present indefinite tense. It should contain a short but logical summary of the whole findings of your research.

The advice given In this blog is formulated to help you generate a high-quality proposal and reveal to you the standards that we use in our internal assessment. Memorize that the research proposal forms a vital element in providing proof of your motivation and commitment to attempt research and your capacity to make a good research student. The proposal should indicate that you have understood seriously your purposeful field and the variation that your own contribution will make.

Regard writing the research as the first part of your proposal. It should show that you have undertaken some introductory research in your area. At the same time don’t forget that the proposal is just the first step in a gradual method and will be improved and changed once the proposal itself gets underway.
